Berkhemer Clayton Places Nicole Malec as Associate SVP of University Communications for USC

Our client organization, the University of Southern California (USC), was established in 1880 and is the world’s leading private research university. Nicole Malec oversees university-wide media and public relations, including coordination with colleges and departments; USC’s home page and social media web strategies; publications, including USC Trojan Family Magazine and USC Chronicle; video and multimedia projects; on-campus commercial filming; and crisis communications.

Before joining USC, Malec was Director of Communications at MIT. She oversaw the communication strategies with web technology, social media, and mobile web; and print publications, web sites, video and electronic communications.

Before MIT, she headed marketing and communications for Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, and spent a decade teaching web development courses.

Malec holds her B.A. from the University of Connecticut, her M.Ed. from Boston College, and is completing her doctorate in sociology at Boston College.
